Sex Ed in Higher Ed

College instructor teaching human sexuality rants about the dumbing down of America, the lost art of manners, grammar and (the perfect combination of both) the thank you note. Also includes random rants about life, pet peeves, and sometimes raves about favorite things.

Is This Even Funny?

Or have I just completely lost it?

On our college campus, and in our little college town, we have who we have come to call "The Driving Nun." She's very small, she drives a small blue car (an old Ford Escort, I think?) and she is perhaps the worst driver ever. And we all know about her because she has cut off everyone. In town. Or pulled out in front of you, or changed lanes suddenly and slammed on the brakes, or acted like she didn't see you in an attempt to run you off the road. Seriously. You name it, she's done it. (At least when it comes to traffic violations.)
So today, one of my colleagues had a run-in with the driving nun and she said, "I always give her a dirty look when I see her. Like she's really a nun. I don't know who she thinks she's kidding with that habitat." Get it? Habitat. Not habit. Funny? Or not so much? The fact that I live in a small college town that has a driving nun who is somewhat of a local celebrity is at least a little funny. I think. Also, my apologies for false advertising. Wednesday was not the day of many posts. Life happens, as it were.

Yes it is funny, and if you can get a visual, it's even funnier. It just so happens that my little old mother(who can't drive) has a blue escort, so I immediately got this picture of her buzzing around town pissing people off. Also, Your Nun would make an excellent character in a comedy, she brought to mind the "I want my two dollars" kid from Better Off Dead. And, It has to make you cring when someone misuses/mispronounces a word like "Habitit" reminds me of my ex step brother who never got past saying 'Passgetti' :)

This reminds me of those TBS commercials where they have people judge whether something is funny or not. The best part is where they show bits of the show "Friends" in Japanese and then in German. Ha!

What's up with me and the freakin' commercials today? :-)

Funny in a "Oh how sad that person doesn't know she is an idiot" way.

One of my brother's friends once wanted to discuss with me the part of the Catholic Bible he called the "Acrophilia" (not Apocrypha).

Must add habitat to the word list. Did she really think she was saying it correctly? Also, I agree with coloradocastaway, the visual is too funny, would make a great comedy.
